The fun starts here!
We meet at the Grand Hotel Terme della Fratta in the afternoon: you settle into your room and get to know the tour leader over a welcome drink.
Your first evening gives you an introduction to the unforgettable flavours of Romagna: Chef Fabio Testori will prepare one of his fine creations for our dinner in the hotel and we will have an introductory briefing on the tour organization.
We hop on to our bikes and head for Bertinoro!
Our first stop will be at Fattoria Paradiso, where we will visit the winery's fascinating, history-filled Wine Museum (www.fattoriaparadiso.it).
We move on towards our second stop, in Polenta, to visit the Parish Church of San Donato, a centuries-old Romanesque church dating from the year 911.
We continue to Bertinoro (I suggest you have your cameras and selfie-sticks at the ready!) where we will stop in the square to admire one of the area's most extraordinary views from what is known as the "Terrace of Romagna".
After hearing a bit about Bertinoro’s unusual history and its famous “Colonna dell'Ospitalità”, we stop for a light lunch in a typical restaurant to taste some of the extraordinary food and wine produced in Romagna.
The beauty of travelling with an e-bike? The next day you will wake up refreshed, with your legs feeling no strain from the previous day’s exertions - even if you are out of practice!
So, let's set off straight away! Our first stop is Teodorano, a small town of 70 inhabitants with an ancient castle. Sources documenting this little hilltop gem date back to 551.
We get back on our bikes headed for Monte Cavallo and then continue towards Casticciano, where the Tenuta Diavoletto awaits us for a visit to the winery and a tasting of their best wines.
Our journey continues towards Bertinoro, where we stop at Cà de Bè for a lunch based on Romagna piadina, cured meats, cake and local (all of them!) wines.
We wake up for the last time at the Grand Hotel Terme della Fratta.
The first stop on Tuesday is at Rocca delle Caminate (www.roccadellecaminate.com) where we visit the recently renovated castle.
Every day, on our return to the Grand Hotel Terme della Fratta, we can relax and recharge in the spa with its Percorso Armonie Naturali. The thermal waters will help you to relax your muscles.
Tuesday ends with the transfer to the Ancora hotel in Cattolica, where we will have dinner.
After our move, you will immediately notice a change in the landscape: from the hills of Tuscan Romagna we can now admire the sea.
We start the second part of our tour riding along a beautiful scenic route overlooking the coast and reach Gradara, where we will visit the walls of the town’s famous castle.
In 2018, this beautiful jewel set on the border with the Marches was awarded the title of the Most Beautiful Small Town in Italy!
After passing the enchanting village of San Giovanni in Marginano, known for its witch festival, we carry on towards one of the best-loved villages of many motorbike enthusiasts: Tavullia, home town of the world motorcycle champion Valentino Rossi!
We stop here to recharge with a good coffee topped with eggnog, then head on to Mondaino, home to the famous mediaeval festival of the "Palio del Daino"; we will stop inside the town’s ancient walls for a quick lunch.
Let's face it... San Marino needs no introduction! The last leg of our tour takes us to this famed destination: a mysterious location that is rich in history, with amazing landscapes and the perfect place to pick up a souvenir.
For lunch, we will stop on a terrace from which you can admire a view that encapsulates the perfect harmony between the sea and hills, in the heart of the historic centre of San Marino, which was included among the UNESCO World Heritage Sites in 2008.
The last trip back to our hotel is… all downhill!
We have breakfast and it is time to return home.
We hope this tour of the wonders of our beloved Romagna will have left you with positive and emotion-packed memories... and see you again on your next trip!
It is possible to arrange a transfer to Bologna Airport upon request.
